

MEET PASTOR MAC

The Rev. Billy Wayne McClendon, Jr., a native of Longview, Texas and is the eldest son of the Rev. Dr. B.W. McClendon, Sr. and Bernetta Ann
Simon McClendon. After accepting his call to preach in 2001, he
enrolled in Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas in
2003. He finished with his Master of Theological Studies degree with
emphasis in Pastoral and Community leadership in 2005. Before that he graduated in 1995 with his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas with double majors in Management and Marketing and minors in Business Information Systems and Economics. He is currently in the pursuit of a doctorate in ministry degree.
Rev. McClendon faithfully served as a member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas where his father, Dr. McClendon serves as Senior Pastor. He was a servant-leader throughout many ministries at St. James which included: Director of Church Ministries,
Youth Director (ages 0 to 30), College Ministries, Young Men Ministries, Wednesday Night and Church School, Technology Ministries which included church computer networking, internet, computer lab, software deployment, and website development. He was a member of the Church Council. He was one of the first instructors for the St. James School for Biblical Studies, teaching the Bible and Technology Integration course for a year.
While faithfully serving the St. James church he also was a teacher and coach for the Austin Independent School District, and was made a member of the
District Council by the Superintendent.
Upon accepting a new job offer from the Mansfield Independent School District to teach and coach in 2013, and moving to Ft. Worth, Texas, he
joined the Truevine Missionary Baptist Church of Ft. Worth where the Rev. Jack A. Crane serves as the Senior Pastor.
Again, he served wherever Pastor Crane needed him until finally settling in as the Pastor of Young Adult Ministries. (I.M.P.A.C.T.) Pastor Crane also appointed Rev. McClendon as Associate Pastor while doing ministry at the Truevine fellowship.
In November of 2015, Rev. McClendon was called to Pastor the County
Line First Baptist Church of Pilot Point, Texas. Where he served as
servant pastor for 8 years.
In 2018 Pastor McClendon and family moved to the city of Arlington, Texas.
In 2021 Pastor McClendon was motivated to run for Arlington City Council to
inspire others to run for political office and attempt to make known Jesus to
others who might not know Him.
On April 14, 2024, Pastor McClendon was called to become the 3 rd pastor of
Alta Mesa Park Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. The best is yet to come!
Rev. McClendon is married to the former Robbie Lynn Miller. They have
been celebrating their union since April 4, 1998. With this union God
has blessed them with two handsome sons, Billy Wayne III (Tre) and
Christopher Earl Simon, and one precious daughter, Sarai Rose. Rev.
McClendon has an older daughter Yasmine Jenell and now
granddaughters named Aaliyah, Layanna and Ava.
He believes in the infallible Word of the Lord, and he always uses the
phrase “If you work the Word, the Word will work for You!”
